In a momentous development, the Rajya Sabha achieved unanimous approval for the Women's Reservation Bill following an exhaustive 11-hour debate on Thursday. The Lok Sabha had previously passed the bill on Wednesday. This groundbreaking legislation mandates a 33% reservation for women in both the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, a move that will be enacted post-census and delimitation, a point challenged by the Opposition.
