Indian Navy Warships On Standby Near Persian Gulf To Assist Vessels In Hormuz Amid West Asia War
The Indian Navy has deployed several warships near the Persian Gulf to closely monitor the movement of India-bound merchant vessels amid rising regional tensions. Operating under Operation Sankalp, naval ships are maintaining constant surveillance in the Strait of Hormuz area to ensure the safe passage of cargo vessels. A warship positioned off the Oman coast is keeping a close watch on ships heading towards India. Two Indian-flagged LPG tankers, Shivalik and Nanda Devi, owned by the Shipping Corporation of India, have safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz and are now en route to India. Another tanker, Jag Prakash, carrying gasoline from Oman to Africa, has also departed from east of the strait. The deployment reflects India’s continued efforts to safeguard maritime trade routes and seafarers.
