A potential Israel-Hamas hostage deal is set to secure the release of approximately 150 Palestinians held in Israeli jails, including 30 women and girls. In exchange, Hamas will release 50 hostages held in Gaza. The negotiation, facilitated by the US, Qatar, and Egypt, involves a four-day ceasefire agreement by Israel. Israeli military actions in Gaza led to the arrest of around 300 individuals, claimed to be connected to armed Palestinian groups. Addameer reports about 7,000 Palestinian political prisoners in Israel, with Ahed Tamimi, sentenced in 2018, being among them for slapping an Israeli soldier.
