Sotheby's is set to auction a rare 96-year-old bottle of Macallan single malt whisky, the Macallan Adami 1926, on November 18, with an estimated sale price of up to $1.4 million (above 750,000 pounds). Advance bidding begins on November 1. In 2019, another Macallan 1926 bottle sold for a record 1.5 million pounds. Only 40 bottles of this whisky were ever produced, with twelve featuring labels designed by Valerio Adami. This specific bottle underwent reconditioning by the distillery, including cork replacement and reapplying glue to the labels, making it a highly sought-after collector's item.
