The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced that general elections would take place on February 11, following a delay caused by delimitation, scheduled for completion on November 30. Initially, the ECP had stated that elections would occur in late January but refrained from specifying a date. The 90-day limit for elections, triggered by the National Assembly's dissolution, is set to expire on November 7, but the ECP prioritized delimitation based on a recent nationwide census. Pakistan, facing an economic crisis, has experienced political instability since the removal of the Imran Khan government through a no-confidence motion in April 2022.
