The group of Muslim students protesting for wearing hijab in classrooms in front of an Udupi college were granted entry, only to be seated separately. This sparked accusations of 'apartheid' and Islamophobia by some activists till the time the govt clarified that the College administration had only allowed the girls entry into campus as a courtesy, and on being told that they could not enter classes with hijab, they chose to protest in a separate room. On the other hand, classes were suspended at the Shanteshwar Education Trust in Vijayapura, after some Hindu students wearing saffron stoles arrived on the campus. Giving a new angle to the fight, some Dalit students at IDSG college in Chikkamagalur were seen wearing blue stoles and shouting 'Jai Bhim' slogan. These students were protesting in support of Muslim girls' right to wear hijab.
