Inner Voice or Eccentricity? Gorakhpur man's unusual plea for Bharat Ratna

In an unusual incident, a 39-year-old resident of Gorakhpur sought the Bharat Ratna through a letter to the local administration, claiming that an inner voice guided him to the country's highest civilian honour. The Gorakhpur administration, rather than dismissing the request outright, conducted a thorough examination. After due diligence, officials concluded that Vinod Kumar Gaur, a mechanic and self-proclaimed all-rounder, lacked the achievements to be eligible for the award. Despite the rejection, Gaur remains undeterred, expressing confidence that if the divine wills it, he will eventually receive the Bharat Ratna.
