Himachal Pradesh: Pratibha Singh's claims ignored, Congress high command picks Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu as CM

The Congress high command has picked Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu as the next chief minister of Himachal Pradesh. While Pratibha Singh was initially adamant on getting the post, she had no option but to relent as reportedly over 25 of the 40 Congress MLAs backed Sukhu. Pratibha Singh's supporters held a noisy dharna in Shimla once it became clear that Sukhu was the favoured candidate. But Pratibha Singh finally accepted the decision. Sukhu said he will work hard to fulfill the promises made by the Congress party.
