After debates in both Houses of Parliament, the Waqf Amendment Bill has been passed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Late on Thursday (April 3), the Upper House approved the new bill by voting 128-95 in favour after a 12-hour discussion. While BJP and its NDA allies welcomed the introduction of a new law, Most of the opposition parties termed it unconstitutional and anti-Muslim in nature.
