CM Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the first Paramveer Chakra awardee Major Somnath Sharma on March 29 in Haldwani. Major Sharma was a part of the Fourth Batallion of the Kumaon Regiment. He was posted in Budgam after independence in 1947, and laid down his life while evicting Pakistani infiltrators from J&K.
