UP: Cold waves continue in Varanasi, Meerut, Kanpur

The cold wave continued in several districts of Uttar Pradesh on December 20. The locals have been witnessing a drop in temperature for the last few days. As per the Indian Metrological Department (IMD), the minimum temperatures in Varanasi, Meerut, and Kanpur were recorded at 9 °C, 8 °C, and 9 °C respectively. Also, a thick layer of fog was seen in these cities. Residents lit bonfires to relieve themselves from the cold. As per the IMD’s forecast, the temperature will continue to remain the same for the next few days.
