No respite from floods in Assam

Flood situation in Assam continues to remain grim as most of rivers flowed above the danger mark due to relentless rainfall. According to local media reports, over 300,000 people from around 16 villages have been affected with the river Brahmaputra and its tributaries flowing above the level of danger. The worst hit areas include Barpeta, Dhemaji, Nalbari, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur and Kamrup.
