Watch: Mehbooba Mufti offers jal on Shivling at Navagraha temple in Poonch, angers clerics

Mehbooba Mufti visited the Navagraha temple in Poonch, which was constructed by late PDP leader Yashpal Sharma, who was a close associate of hers. She took a tour of the temple and also offered jal to the Shivling. Yashpal Sharma’s son was extremely happy at Mehbooba’s visit to the temple. While the BJP called the move a political gimmick, Muslim clerics are reportedly unhappy. A cleric belonging to Deoband Asad Kasmi has called the act unIslamic. However, Mehbooba shot back at the criticism, saying many Hindus too offer prayers at dargahs. Mehbooba Mufti was on a two-day visit to Poonch when she visited the temple.
