Senior Congress leader and MP Randeep Surjewala reacted to the use of water cannons and lathi-charge by police on agitated farmers in Kurukshetra and put up a question slamming the state government. He asked, “Are government and police working only to beat and disrespect the farmers?”While talking to ANI, Randeep Surjewala said, “Farmers continue their protest demanding Minimum Support Price for Sunflower seed in Kurukshetra’s Shahabad. PM Modi had said that an MSP law will be brought, so where is it? Neither there is an MSP law nor the farmers are getting MSP. When the farmers protest, they only get lathi-charged? Are government and police working only to beat and disrespect the farmers?”Meanwhile, agitated farmers have blocked the Delhi-Amritsar National Highway in Kurukshetra since June 06. Farmers have been protesting against the Haryana government’s decision to not buy sunflower seeds at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). To disperse them police, used water cannons and lathi-charge.
