Kolkata: Over Rs 1 crore cash seized from car in Park Street

The city police STF and the ARS of detective department seized Rs 1,03,44,400 from a car in Park Street. Rajesh Kasera alias Rajesh Agarwal (49), a resident of Nalini Ranjan Avenue and New Alipore, was intercepted based on a tip and the car was raided around 4.40pm on Monday. "He was stopped for carrying over Rs 1 crore in cash. He failed to give a satisfactory answer or document when asked to explain the money's origin and purpose. The money was stashed in the car bearing a Bengal registration. Following his detention, a case was registered for theft," said an officer.
