Justice Ramana appointed next CJI, will take charge on April 24

Justice NV Ramana has been appointed the next Chief Justice of India. He will assume charge on April 24, 2021 after the retirement of CJI SA Bobde. Justice Bobde had recommended Justice Ramana's name as his successor to the Union law ministry. President Ram Nath Kovind formally appointed Justice Ramana as the next CJI.
