As per the publication, firefighters reported a fire in his barn, which trapped him inside after 10 pm on Feb 26, 2026. According to the report, firefighters found a 50 by 100 foot barn almost engulfed in fire. Reportedly, family members confirmed that one person was inside the barn. The St. Mary's County press release obtained by the publication stated, "After the fire was brought under control, firefighters located a deceased male victim within the barn.
"As per the release, the person inside the structure was trying to jump-start a vehicle. Reportedly, he had asked his wife for the fire extinguisher; however, by the time she reached the spot, she found the barn engulfed in fire.Reportedly, the victim's wife has also suffered burn injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
