Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the inaugural session of the Semicon India 2023 conclave in Gandhinagar. Speaking on India’s electronic industry, the Prime Minister said in 2023, electronic production in the country has crossed the 100-billion-dollar mark which was not even close to the 2014 production mark when he took oath as Prime Minister of India. “From why to invest to why not to invest, this has been the journey of Semicon India. Our nation has great opportunities for investments in 2023. We are witnessing exponential growth in India’s digital sector and electronic manufacturing. Our share in global electronics manufacturing has increased a lot. A few years back, India was a rising player in this sector and today, our share in global electronics manufacturing has increased several times. In 2014, India’s electronics production was worth less than 30 Billion Dollars. Today, it has crossed 100 Billion Dollars. In just two years, India’s electronics export has doubled. The export of mobile phones manufactured in India has doubled. The country which once was an importer of mobile phones is now manufacturing the world’s best mobile phones and exporting them,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
