Govind Pansare case: Virendra Tawde files plea in HC

A fierce political war has erupted ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Union Minister Piyush Goyal has accused Chief Minister M. K. Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin of “looting” Tamil Nadu and said the NDA is determined to defeat the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government. Goyal said the alliance aims to bring a double-engine government in the state with backing from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Meanwhile, the DMK has responded sharply. Party leaders claim the BJP will face its “Waterloo” in Tamil Nadu and that the people of the state will reject what they call the “Delhi team”. With both sides escalating their rhetoric, the state’s upcoming elections are expected to become one of the most closely watched political battles in India this year.
