Subodh Kumar Jaiswal was appointed as the CBI director on Tuesday. A 1985 batch IPS officer serving as CISF DG, he was chosen from a shortlist of three officers cleared by the PM-led selection committee on Monday. The other two in the shortlist were SSB chief Kumar Rajesh Chandra and special secretary in home ministry V S K Kaumudi. Jaiswal will have a fixed tenure of two years from the date he assumes charge as CBI director, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
