Chhattisgarh Liquor Scam: “Illegal recovery of money through the illegal sale of liquor,” says Ravi Shankar Prasad

Addressing a press conference on July 06, BJP’s Senior leader Ravi Shankar Prasad hit out at the Chhattisgarh government over a liquor scam and alleged that the scam was of Rs 2,000 crore. “Illegal recovery of money through the illegal sale of liquor is now a hallmark of the Opposition's loot Abhiyan,” Ravi Shankar Prasad said. According to the Enforcement Directorate, the alleged corruption began in 2019 and continued until 2022 in the Excise department. The ED in its chargesheet in the alleged liquor scam case purportedly involving bureaucrats and politicians of Chhattisgarh, claimed on July 04 that the total loss to the State exchequer was to the tune of Rs 2,161 crore.
