Centre hikes MSP on rabi crops

The Union Cabinet has decided to hike the minimum support price (MSP) for crops sown in the rabi season. The MSP for wheat and barley has been increased by Rs 85 each, gram by Rs 255, Masur (Lentil) by Rs 325 and mustard by Rs 225 per quintal. Announcing the decision, Union minister Prakash Javadekar said that the move is aimed at doubling the income of farmers.
