Russia’s UN ambassador Vasily Nebenzia launched a fierce attack on the United States and Israel during the latest United Nations Security Council debate on the Middle East crisis. Nebenzia claimed the new resolution ignored the “root causes” of the conflict and effectively justified military actions against Iran. He alleged that some delegations were pressured during the vote and suggested Washington may have planned military operations while diplomatic talks with Tehran were ongoing. The remarks come amid escalating tensions after the joint United States–Israel operation against Iran, which triggered missile and drone retaliation across the region.
