A political storm has erupted in Kyiv after a report to the U.S. Congress revealed that American officials provided strategic guidance to a major Ukrainian anti-corruption probe. The investigation centers on alleged kickbacks at Energoatom and has already triggered cabinet upheaval, including the dismissal of a senior aide to President Volodymyr Zelensky. The U.S. Department of Justice acknowledged offering case-based advice to Ukrainian agencies leading the case. While some media speculate Washington used the probe to pressure Kyiv on peace negotiations, no public evidence confirms that claim. The revelations come as Ukraine faces mounting battlefield and political challenges.
