Russia and Iran are defying Western sanctions once again, this time by finalising a major gas supply deal. According to Iranian officials, nearly all negotiations with Gazprom have been resolved, and the only hurdle left is price. With plans to send up to 1.8 billion cubic meters of gas annually, the deal marks a significant geopolitical shift. Both Moscow and Tehran remain under heavy Western sanctions, yet their growing energy alliance is setting off alarms in Washington and Brussels.
