Cigarettes, laptops, mobile phones worth Rs 65.99 lakh seized from air passengers in Coimbatore
A case was registered against the passengers for bringing the goods without proper documents.
COIMBATORE: Central Intelligence Unit sleuths seized cigarettes, laptops and mobile phones worth Rs 65.99 lakh from 11 passengers who landed at the Coimbatore International Airport last week.The sleuths conducted a special search at the airport on Feb 11 and 12 and intercepted passengers who travelled from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. They seized 3.48 lakh cigarettes, 895 e-cigarettes, 21 refurbished laptops and four refurbished mobile phones from 11 passengers.
