Russia claims it has shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet near Krasnoarmeysk using a Buk-M3 missile system, accusing the pilot of a fatal misstep. The incident came amid a massive Russian retaliatory strike following Ukraine’s drone raid on Russian strategic bomber bases. Kyiv endured a night of explosions, drones, and sirens, with at least three killed and dozens injured as nine regions were hit. Moscow has labeled its barrage as a justified reaction to Ukraine’s “terrorist acts,” while President Putin personally warned Trump of further response plans.
