U.S. Senator Angus King has warned that the biggest beneficiary of the ongoing Iran war could be Russian President Vladimir Putin. Speaking during a Senate discussion, King said Russia has already gained an estimated $6 billion in just two weeks due to rising global oil prices and easing sanctions pressures. He argued that the conflict is indirectly strengthening Moscow’s economy while global energy markets remain unstable. King also raised concerns that U.S. air defense systems are being redirected to the Middle East, potentially limiting support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as Ukraine continues to face Russian attacks.
