A fragile ceasefire between the US, Iran, and Israel, which also reportedly included a halt to attacks in Lebanon, is now hanging by a thread. And global powers, including NATO nations such as Italy, Spain, are sounding the alarm after what Tehran called “massacre-like” strikes by Israel in Lebanon as they fear the fresh attacks threaten to shatter the truce achieved after months of devastating war that engulfed West Asia. The fresh attacks have resulted in the reported killing of hundreds of people, including the nephew of Naim Qassem, head of the Iran-backed group Hezbollah, in an overnight air strike on Beirut, claimed by Israeli Defence Forces.
