NATO State Calls Israel’s Ground Operation In Lebanon ‘A Disgrace Against Humanity’

Israel has launched limited ground operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, the first Israeli ground movement into Lebanese territory since the broader war began. Defence Minister Katz said Shia residents who evacuated southern Lebanon "will not return south of the Litani" until the north's security is guaranteed. Spain's FM Albares called it a "huge mistake" and a "disgrace for humanity," pointing to nearly a million displaced Lebanese and attacks on UNIFIL, which includes Spanish troops. Spain has already recalled its Tel Aviv ambassador and refused US use of joint bases. As the ground operation begins, Spain's voice is the clearest European condemnation yet.
