The United States has lost one of its most advanced surveillance drones, the MQ-4C Triton, after it crashed in the Persian Gulf on April 9 during ongoing military tensions. The US Navy has classified the incident as a Class A mishap, indicating a total loss of the aircraft. Valued at up to $240 million, the MQ-4C Triton is a high-altitude, long-endurance drone designed for wide-area maritime surveillance. The exact cause of the crash remains unknown, though reports suggest the drone lost communication mid-flight and deviated from its return path before going down.
