The Kremlin has responded to the U.S. President Donald Trump’s declaration that he would no longer speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin and that Moscow’s ceasefire deadline has been slashed from 50 days to just "10 or 12." Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia had “taken note” of Trump’s ultimatum and reiterated Moscow’s commitment to peace. However, hours after Trump’s statement, Ukraine witnessed its deadliest airstrike in July — with 25 people killed in a single day, including victims of a drone and missile barrage. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of deliberately targeting a prison in Zaporizhzhia. The Kremlin denied civilian targeting, calling the allegation false and emphasizing Russia's continued pursuit of a peaceful resolution.
