Reports are emerging of ships linked to Iran continuing to pass through the Strait of Hormuz just hours after the United States began enforcing a military blockade on Iranian ports. According to maritime tracking firm Kpler, at least two vessels crossed the strategic waterway despite the restrictions, including a bulk carrier and a tanker that moved without interception. The situation escalated further when a US-sanctioned tanker linked to China also reportedly crossed the strait after initially turning back. Iran responded with sharp and mocking remarks, with its embassy in Ghana joking that the tanker’s captain had found a way to “skip the ads”.
