Iran Launches 4th Missile Salvo in 24 Hrs At Israel; Air Defences Scramble For Interceptions

Iran has launched a fresh wave of missile strikes against Israel, marking the fourth salvo since midnight and underscoring the sustained nature of the current escalation. According to Israeli military assessments, a limited number of missiles were fired, with air defence systems successfully intercepting those aimed at southern regions, preventing damage in populated areas. However, concerns have emerged over the nature of one of the incoming threats. Reports suggest that a missile targeting central Israel may have carried a cluster munition warhead, designed to disperse multiple submunitions over a wider area. Such payloads are typically intended to maximise area impact rather than precision, raising questions about the evolving character of the strikes. Another missile reportedly impacted an open area without causing casualties. Simultaneously, the northern front remains active. Rocket fire from Lebanon triggered air raid sirens in Nahariya and surrounding regions, highlighting the continued involvement of Hezbollah and the persistence of a multi-front challenge for Israel.
