Iran Fires Cluster-Warhead Missile at Israel, Bomblets Rain Over Cities as Air Defenses Face Test

Two people were lightly injured after a ballistic missile launched by Iran struck central Israel, scattering cluster munitions across a wide area. Israel’s emergency service Magen David Adom confirmed the injuries as rescue teams responded to fires and damage at multiple sites. Footage released by Israeli police shows one of the bomblets striking the ground after the missile released its payload high in the air.Military analysts say Iran has increasingly equipped some of its missiles with cluster warheads to challenge Israel’s air defense systems, including the Iron Dome. Experts warn that these submunitions spread unpredictably over miles, posing risks to civilian areas and creating new challenges for interception systems. The attack highlights the evolving tactics in the escalating Iran–Israel conflict.
