Germany will boost police patrols along its borders with Poland and the Czech Republic to curb migrant inflows, according to Interior Minister Nancy Faeser. The move follows an increasing number of asylum seekers, including over 10,000 applicants in Berlin this year. The former mental health hospital used as a registration center in the city is at full capacity, prompting authorities to open additional shelters and facilities. The influx, driven by global crises like climate change and wars, presents housing and integration challenges, with Berlin also hosting 11,000 Ukrainian refugees.
