Alaska forestry officials say new wildfires were reported in the state after a line of thunderstorms passed through on Monday. One fire is near Talkeetna, a quirky tourist town that also serves as the jumping off point for those climbing North America's tallest peak. Talkeetna is about 100 miles north of Anchorage and about 50 miles south of Denali. Officials said several structures were threatened. The Alaska Division of Forestry said two helicopters were dropping water on the fires and two air tankers were ordered.
