BREAKING: U.S. Troops ‘Under Attack’ In Iraq: Explosive-laden Drone Shot Mid-Air Near Erbil Airport

An explosive-laden drone was intercepted and shot down near Erbil International Airport on Monday, marking the second attempted drone attack this month near a base housing U.S. troops. "At 02:20 (1120 GMT) an explosive-laden drone was downed near Arbil International Airport, without causing casualties or damage," said the counterterrorism services of the Kurdistan region. Erbil airport, which includes a base for the U.S.-led international anti-jihadist coalition, was frequently targeted by rocket and drone attacks in previous years. Watch.
