Bangladesh cops say two groups allegedly involved in drug and human trafficking are trying to establish dominance in the area. The region is a crucible of the lucrative trade in metham-phetamine, mostly manufactured across the border in Myanmar. The two groups involved in the fighting are a local drug syndicate called 'Munna Gang' and the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), the armed group that has a presence in the sprawling camps and that refugees have accused of carrying out kidnappings and attacks.
