Anger Erupts In America Over Iran War, Senators Demand Answers, White House Remains Evasive

US Senator Richard Blumenthal emerged from a classified briefing on Operation Epic Fury describing himself as "dissatisfied and angry" and warning that America appears to be on a path toward deploying ground troops in Iran. Republican Senator Rand Paul simultaneously accused the Trump administration of changing its rationale for the war daily. A War Powers Resolution requiring congressional authorisation was defeated largely along party lines. Senate Minority Leader Schumer directly challenged Trump's Minab school claim on the Senate floor: "Iran doesn't have Tomahawk missiles, Donald Trump. The claim is beyond asinine." The administration has provided no endgame, no timeline, and no answer on ground troops.

Iran has warned Ukraine that by providing drone support to the United States and Israel, Kyiv has made its entire territory a legitimate military target. Ebrahim Azizi, Head of Iran's Parliamentary National Security Commission, invoked Article 51 of the UN Charter in the threat. The warning comes as Zelensky confirmed 11 countries have requested Ukraine's counter-drone expertise, with a Ukrainian team already deployed to Jordan. The US has separately sent 10,000 AI-enabled Merops interceptor drones developed through a Ukraine-based venture to the Middle East. Iran's message is clear: Ukraine's involvement in this war has consequences that may not respect the geography Zelensky has assumed.
