Donald Trump stated that Palestinians will not have the right to return to Gaza under his proposed plan, claiming they would get "better housing" elsewhere. He suggested relocating Palestinians to Egypt or Jordan, citing U.S. financial aid to those countries. Both Egypt and Jordan immediately rejected the idea. Trump previously referred to Gaza as a "big real estate site" and suggested the U.S. could "own it completely."
