As per reports, the urban affairs ministry alongside a major online food delivery service has signed an MoU to enable street food vendors to get on board the company’s platform. An initial pilot of 250 vendors across five major cities will be carried out. Street vendors will be assisted with PAN and FSSAI registration, training on technology, partner app usage and more. The agreement has been signed under the Prime Minister Street Vendor’s Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme. Under the scheme, street vendors are eligible for loans of up to Rs 10,000 at subsidised interest rates.
