‘Trump maybe looking for military alliances, India perhaps doesn’t fit his agenda’, Ex-Foreign Secy

Donald Trump is possibly more keen on military alliances in the Indo-Pacific and India doesn't seem to fit in with his agenda, former foreign secretary Ranjan Mathai said in an exclusive conversation on Global Pulse. He added that a trade deal could ease some of the pressure on New Delhi. Mathai also spoke on Trump's newfound love for Pakistan, suggesting that something happened during Operation Sindoor that influenced the calculations of the Trump administration and convinced them that Islamabad could be a useful ally.
