Pallavi Joshi, known for her impactful television shows like ‘Alpaviram’, ‘Antakshari’, and ‘Bharat Ki Baat’, as well as films such as ‘The Kashmir Files’ and ‘Grahan’, recently spoke exclusively to The Times of India about the evolving entertainment landscape. Reflecting on today’s television content, she said that the massive volume of shows being produced and consumed has reduced recall value, as audiences are constantly exposed to new material without enough time to emotionally invest in it. She believes that earlier content stayed with viewers for years because it was limited yet meaningful, whereas today, the speed of consumption has changed engagement patterns. Speaking about OTT platforms, she acknowledged that while they have created space for diverse stories and new talent, quality often varies and strong writing remains the key to lasting impact. Pallavi also shared why she consciously stays away from social media, explaining that she prefers privacy and meaningful work over constant digital presence. Addressing trolling, she emphasized the importance of emotional balance and not internalizing negativity. On parenting, she highlighted the need to raise independent thinkers with strong values in a screen-dominated world.
