Zeenat Aman, one of Indian cinema's all-time favorite actresses, had set trends like none. Zeenat, however, has had a life full of ups and downs. Today as Zeenat Aman turns 70, let’s take a sneak peak into those times when she spoke about troubles in her marriage with Mazhar Khan. Reportedly, Zeenat had bared her heart out about her past relationships. The actress, who has always been vocal about her life - both personal and professional - had shared what went wrong in her marriage with Mazhar Khan. She recounted that she really wanted to be a mother, and her biological clock was ticking and Mazhar "just happened to be there at the right time". She had also revealed that her mom was disapproving of the match. Regardless of everything , Zeenat however, went ahead and married Mazhar. Things, however, didn't go as smoothly for the couple, and differences started to arise. While speaking about her marriage she said, ‘Mazhar never wanted me to grow as an individual or as an artist. He always wanted me to be with the kids and be at home.’ Adding further Zeenat shared she couldn't think of a single moment of happiness during the 12 long years she tried to make it work after their first year of marriage. Speaking about the step she took to marry Mazhar Khan the actress said,, ‘During the very first year of marriage I realised I had made a huge mistake, but I decided to live by it and make it work. I tried to make it work for another 12 years. There was no light at the end of the tunnel for me’. At last she concluded by saying "There was not a single moment of happiness or joy during those 12 years. But I still tried making it work.’ Known for her work in the film industry and ruling people’s hearts Zeenat has been a part of several memorable films including Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, Chori Mera Kaam, Hum Kisise Kum Naheen and Satyam Shivam Sundaram among others.
