29-year-old Nusrat Jahan, a first-time Parliamentarian and an actress recently hit back at clerics who accused her of disrespecting her religion by marrying into another, calling her saree clad-sindoor marked avatar 'un-Islamic'. The actress lashed back saying that she represents 'an inclusive India' and no one should comment on what she chooses to wear as 'faith is beyond any attire'. Jahan, who tied the knot with businessman Nikhil Jain earlier in June chose to come for her oath taking ceremony dressed in a sari, wearing a mangalsutra and sindoor which caused some stir. Meanwhile, another actor-turned-politician from the Bengali film industry, Mimi Chakraborty took to Twitter to defend her friend. She tweeted, 'We are Indians and that's our only identification'.
