Texas rapper Tay-K, real name Taymor McIntyre, has just been hit with another massive prison sentence—80 years for the 2017 murder of Mark Saldivar during a robbery gone wrong at a San Antonio restaurant. Just 16 at the time, Tay-K narrowly avoided a capital murder conviction that could've locked him away for life. The new sentence adds to the 55 years he's already serving for a separate 2016 murder. Tay-K went on the run after the first killing, cutting off his ankle monitor and documenting his escape in the viral track “The Race”, which rocketed onto the Billboard Hot 100. Despite his fleeting fame, Tay-K will now spend the foreseeable future behind bars in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
