Indian Coast Guard plans to increase fleet to 200 ships, 100 aircraft by 2025-2026

Indian Coast Guard Director General Rakesh Pal on December 12 said that they are adding many ships and aircrafts to overcome all the challenges. He also added that the number will increase to around 200 ships and 100 aircrafts by the end of 2025 or 2026. Rakesh Pal said, “To overcome all these challenges, we are adding many ships and aircrafts. Now, we have around 157 ships in the Coast Guard and about 78 aircrafts. The numbers will increase to approximately 200 ships and 100 aircrafts by the end of 2025 or late 2026. The security challenges are being overcome with close coordination with all the agencies and all the stakeholders including the Navy.”
