UP: 23 accused in crime against women, children sentenced to life imprisonment in last 24 hrs

The Uttar Pradesh government has sentenced 23 accused to life imprisonment in the past 24 hours, in connection with cases of crime against women and children. The State Home Department of Uttar Pradesh stated the information in a press release on October 20. According to it, 28 criminals were thrown out of the district, and bails were cancelled in 49 cases. The action has come as a big boost to the newly launched `Mission Shakti’ to prevent crime against women and girls across the state.
