A Covid Care Centre having 100-beds was inaugurated at the Fort Kochi Taluk Hospital in Kerala. Five ICU beds and a single ventilator are available at the hospital which is fitted with centralised oxygen supply for 60 beds. A walk-in kiosk for sample collection for testing has also been set up. The hospital will start functioning from November 4. Eventually more facilities will be introduced as per the requirements. As the district anticipates a rise in Covid cases during the coming days, facilities at all government hospitals in the district will be augmented to treat Covid-19 patients, according to V S Sunil Kumar, Minister for Agriculture, who is in charge of pandemic related measures in Ernakulam district. This is in addition to certain private hospitals which are also providing treatment to Covid-19 patients.
